University of Innsbruck, Austria (Project Leader) was founded in 1669 and is the leading research-based university in the Western part of Austria, with a consistent European-level presence. More than 27,000 students study across 16 faculties – the newest is the School of Education founded in 2013 – and over 3000 academics are involved in teaching, research. The Department of Teacher Education and School Research is part of the newly founded School of Education. It is a leading institution for TE in Austria with an international reputation and international cooperation partners in Europe, North America and East Asia.

Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary is Hungary’s first ranked university by its student and academic excellence (2012) and is officially awarded with the title “research university”. The university has 28,200 students and offers 292 bachelor’s degree and combined undergraduate-graduate programs, 93 master’s programs, 80 combined undergraduate-graduate teaching degree programs and has 17 doctoral schools offering 118 doctoral programs (2014)., The Faculty of Education and Psychology (PPK) coordinates the pedagogy and psychology modules of teacher training, and the University’s Teacher Training Centre is located here.

University of Lower Silesia, Wrocław, Poland is a non-public institution of higher learning specializing in the field of Educational Studies and Social Sciences reputed for its excellence in the field of educational studies. The core of the ULS research based programmes is led by the Faculty of Education, including TE at different levels (initial, in-service, post-graduate, to doctoral).
